LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION MEMBER ROBERT LEWIS DIES
 

Robert Lewis, a member of the Los Angeles County Fair Association since 1975, died at his home in Newport Beach on Friday, Feb. 17, following a lengthy illness.
 Formerly the owner of Foothill Beverage in Pomona, Lewis was a familiar face at the Barretts Equine Ltd. yearling sales. A prominent owner, the Lewises acquired an impressive stable of horses, including Kentucky Derby winners Silver Charm and Charismatic. Lewis was active in the community serving on the board of directors of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and Casa Colina Center for Rehabilitation. He was a major donor to the establishment of the cancer center at PVHMC, named The Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center.


 Lewis is survived by his wife, Beverly, and children, Jeff, Nancy and Jimmy. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 4-8 p.m., at Todd Memorial Chapel, 570 N. Garey Avenue, Pomona. Services are Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m., at St. James Anglican Church, 3209 Via Lido, Newport Beach.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Foundation, 1798 N. Garey Avenue, Pomona, CA 91767.
