James R. Kostoff , chairman of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles
County Fair Association, has announced the appointment of four new members of the
board.
The newly appointed directors are Arthur Ludwick, Larry Rinehart, Jil Stark and Ronald Vera. Their term begins Nov. 1.
“We are pleased that all four have accepted positions on the board,” said Kostoff. “Their leadership and experience will be of great value as we take Fairplex into the future.”
Director Reginald Webb headed the nominating committee. “These four
represent a diverse group of leaders from our Association who have demonstrated
their commitment over time to the L.A. County Fair and Fairplex,” said Webb.
He added: “Our community is changing – has changed – and we were looking
for people to help us evolve and develop our product to meet the needs of the
community.”
Becoming directors emeriti are the Honorable Thomas F. Nuss, Robert W.
Burwell and Donald Descombes.
Ludwick has served on the Association since 1990. A senior vice president
of Rain Bird Sprinkler Manufacturing Corp., Ludwick is an active member of Kiwanis
in Glendora, chairman of the Foothill Hospital Foundation, a member of the
President’s Council at Cal Poly Pomona and a former member of the Glendora Parks
and Recreation Commission.
“I look forward to working with the new cadre of contemporaries,” said
Ludwick. “As a member of the board, I hope to encourage the efforts being put
forth.”
A graduate of Stanford University, Ludwick and his wife, Sarah, live in
Glendora. They have three children
Rinehart is president and CEO of PFF Bank & Trust. He was appointed to the Fair Association in 1995. The Upland resident is on the board of the California Bankers Association, a trustee of the University of La Verne, and on the boards of the Pomona Red Cross, United Way and the Pomona Business Bureau. Rinehart has a bachelor’s degree from the University of La Verne. He has three children.
