A panel of nationally recognized experts in land planning and development will present their views on the city of Pomona’s proposed general plan during a public forum from 8 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 23 at The Village Conference Center @ Indian Hill, 1444 E. Holt Ave.
The panel, which is expected to offer its perspectives in the area of land development, economic development and effective urban planning, includes: Blaine Fetter, president, Samuelson & Fetter; Brian Jones, president of commercial group Forest City West; Randall W. Lewis, executive vice president and director of marketing for Lewis Group of Companies, developers of master-planned communities and retail developments; and Wayne Ratkovich, president and CEO of The Ratkovich Company, a Los Angeles development firm specializing in urban infill and rehabilitation projects.
The forum is sponsored by the Pomona Chamber of Commerce, Pomona Rotary and Fairplex Friends, all community-based groups interested in the positive growth of Pomona. Chamber Executive Director Frank Garcia said he would like to see local businesses and community members get more involved in the general plan process.
“The city has been looking for a way to engage the business community in the General Plan process, and the forum is a great opportunity to do so. The businesses and community members will have the unique opportunity to talk to the city staff as well as interface with well known developers about the future of Pomona.”
