Most everyone likes a pat on the back, a high five, an “atta boy.” Just ask the staff at the Sheraton Suites Fairplex hotel, based at Fairplex in Pomona.
The Southern California and Nevada region of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc., manager of the property, named the Sheraton Suites Fairplex 2005 Hotel of the Year. The Sheraton Suites Fairplex stood out among eight other owned and managed properties in the region.
The award was given for year over year improvement, exceeding financial goals, meeting customer needs and delivering an exemplary level of guest satisfaction. Wally Price, general manager of the Sheraton Suites Fairplex said, “It was the efforts of our entire team that made it possible for us to achieve our 2005 goal of becoming Hotel of the Year for this region.”
The Sheraton opened in June, 1992, the first all-suites property on the West Coast. The 247-suites hotel recently received $9.5 million in renovations and remodeling. The hotel is located on the Fairplex grounds and complements the entertainment and exposition complex with accommodating its trade and consumer show traffic and hosting a number of meetings and receptions, in addition to conventions, weddings and private parties.
