For Immediate Release
BARRETTS NAMES NEW VP SALES

Jerry McMahon, Barretts’ President and General Manager, has announced that former trainer Kim Lloyd has been hired as the company’s Vice President Sales, effective May 15th.  “It has become more important than ever for sales companies to reach out to consignors and buyers, and we felt that Kim had the perfect background to help us do that more effectively,” stated McMahon.  “His winning personality and broad experience as a horseman will be invaluable assets to our business.  He’ll spend a lot of his time at farms and training centers, as well as on the backstretch informing our customers about the opportunities available to them at our auctions,” added McMahon.

Mr. Lloyd, 51, began training in 1985 after learning the business from the ground up as a hot walker and groom in the mid-seventies.  He trained a second string for Hall of Famer W.L. Proctor for a number of years before going on his own, during which time he trained stakes runners such as Tangent, Staralamo, Fu Man Slew, Boundless Beauty, and Royal Regatta, among others.

Mr. Lloyd retired from training in 2001 and has most recently been employed as Fleet Sales manager for a prominent Southern California automobile dealership.  He resides in Arcadia, California with his wife Linda and their three children, Blake, Devon, and Sarah.
