Paul Ryneveld will join Fairplex staff on March 19 as the newly named equine manager. He replaces George Bradvica, who accepted a position at Del Mar Racetrack late last year.
Ryneveld, a native of Renton, Washington, comes to Fairplex from Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington, where he was director of racing. He has an impressive racing background complementing Fairplex Park’s long racing history.
Ryneveld, has 20 years experience within the pari-mutuel, racing and gaming industries. He has held positions at Longacres Racecourse, Washington; Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico; Sunland Park Racetrack, New Mexico; and Great Lakes Downs in Michigan, where he served as director of mutuels and assistant general manager.
Ryneveld earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Washington, Seattle, and is currently completing a master’s degree in business administration from University of Washington, Tacoma campus. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from University of Arizona, earned while working for the Arizona Department of Racing and attending its Racetrack Industry Program.
In addition to overseeing Fairplex Park’s live race meet, simulcast racing and training program, Ryneveld will work closely with Barretts Equine Limited. Ryneveld said, “I look forward to being a part of the top racing circuit of Southern California, Barretts Equine Limited, and, specifically, the exciting growth potential and challenges that await Fairplex Park.” /
