Who can resist the richness of old leather, the mirror shine of waxed fenders deep enough to evoke a nostalgia for days gone by? Add a well- balanced wine, a perfect Southern California evening and an opportunity to benefit the education programs of the Foundations at Fairplex, and you have Wine & Cars Under the Stars. Join other automobile and wine aficionados for this memorable evening on Saturday, June 16 at the historic Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum at Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.
This unique fundraising event celebrates the award-winning wines and spirits from the prestigious Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition amidst an impressive collection of one-of-a-kind automobiles and hot rods, uniting for the first time two worlds for which Fairplex is renowned–wine and cars.
In addition to being among the first to sample the winning wines from the competition and sample gourmet food, guests of Wine & Cars Under the Stars will dance the night away to vintage classics, hob-nob with celebrities from the automotive and music industries and enjoy a nostalgic “drive-in” movie complete with old-fashioned car bench seats.
Guests will also have an opportunity to participate in exclusive behind-the- scenes tours of Fairplex’s 30,000 bottle wine cellar – a first for members of the public –
and meet cellar master Mary Ellen Cole.
Food stations and bars will offer unique tasting opportunities throughout the evening. Tequila mixologists will mix the best tequilas in the world with an assortment of ingredients, concocting some of the smoothest drinks around. The Edible Cocktail Bar will serve sumptuous appetizers, ranging from shrimp to chocolate truffles, in an assortment of margarita, martini and shot glasses. Chefs will create mouth-watering treats featuring the finest extra virgin olive oils at the Olive Oil Tasting Bar.
A silent auction featuring fine art, award-winning wines and exciting experiences will round out the evening’s festivities.
Rev up your palate and passion for classic automobiles at Wine & Cars Under the Stars.
