In its 70th year, the wine competition saw more than 3,400 international wines entered into its prestigious competition, with a diverse panel of more than 80 judges choosing who would take home the gold. For the first year, best of show awards were given to wines in different price points. It was the second year for the Wine World of Sports, with baseball legend Tommy Lasorda’s Pinot Grigio taking first place. The inaugural Music Uncorked, for musicians-turned-vintners, hit all the right notes, with Metal rock singer Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of Tool, and his Caduceus Cellars taking best of show. In its third year, the spirits competition was opened to all distilled beverages, with 199 entries. The stature of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition shows has risen to the level of being the finest competition of its kind and attracting nearly 500 olive oils from points around the globe.
