Horse Show Facilities

The Fairplex Equine Center has long been the site of Southern California horse shows. Many equestrians can remember participating in the Los Angeles County Fair shows, 4-H shows, and club shows when just learning the skills of competitive riding. They remember the shows in the old “Carnation “ ring and the old barns that housed row after row of horses on display during the Fair.

While the old “Carnation” ring is now just a memory, the tradition of fine equestrian competition continues at Fairplex. When planning your next event, horse show, sale, roping, or team penning, consider our facility.

Show Arenas

The Fairplex Equine Center features the lighted Outside Arena (125’ x 270’), with shaded bleacher seating for 800 people. This arena is equipped with an enclosed, air-conditioned announcer’s tower, a ribbon room, concession stand, in-gate gazebo, and judge’s gazebo that can be located in the center of the ring. An intercom system allows for communication between all locations.

The warm-up arena (90’ x 200’), and a small covered arena (60’ x 160’) with bleacher seating, are also available for your use.

The large, Covered Arena (125’ x 270’), equipped with bleacher seating, lights, announcer’s tower, office trailer, and concession stand offers year-round protection for your event.

World-class experts in equine footings maintain our arena surfaces. The staff will work with you to keep the surfaces prepared to meet your needs. Our barns offer 270 permanent box stalls, 210 covered portable stalls and 31 cement floor tack rooms.

Show Office

A show office is available to you, which has barn paging, intercom and telephone service. This efficient office space is divided into a customer service area and a back room for the staff. A refrigerator, coffee maker and bottled water are provided. This area is equipped with ribbon hanging poles, should you want to use this area for a ribbon room.

Host your exhibitor party in our Hospitality Room, located at the end of Barn 1. It has a complete kitchen and room to seat 100 people. Just outside is a pleasant grass area for a picnic or barbeque on a warm evening.
