Why Give to The Learning Centers at Fairplex?

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Federal Tax ID #95-4686764), The Learning Centers at Fairplex (TLC) must raise the necessary funds for its annual operations in order to provide these relevant and impactful educational programs to community participants at no or very low cost.

Revenues for The Learning Centers at Fairplex come from a variety of sources, including individual donations, special events, grants from corporate and private foundations, government contracts and other earned income (such as Moo Market and Millard Sheets gift shop sales).

In its steadfast commitment to education, the Los Angeles County Fair Association generously underwrites most of the administrative costs for these programs. As a result, more than 90% of all dollars raised from these other sources directly benefit programmatic costs for The Learning Centers at Fairplex.

Our most constant and generous support comes from individuals and community partners just like you, who believe in the power of education and the lasting value of a learning experience that shapes one’s life. Unrestricted giving helps The Learning Centers at Fairplex to meet its most immediate needs and initiatives that would otherwise not be possible, such as:
  • - Hands-on exhibits and workshops
  • - Interactive school-age programming at the L.A. County Fair
  • - Vocational training that helps students find jobs
  • - Leadership opportunities for high school students
  • - Quality early childhood education and parent support services

forget it… As I walked
around I saw many things that they don’t have
anywhere else. “
