BEER COMPETITION ANNOUNCES WINNERS FOR 2015
Pomona, CA- April 21, 2015 - A chocolate/coffee-infused imperial stout took the top honors at the 2015 Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition. Earning a gold medal, New English Brewery, Zumbar Chocolate Coffee Imperial Stout took Best of Show among the 1,098 entries.
Judged in April, the 15th annual beer competition drew entries from as far as Belgium, Ireland and England. Entries were up 16 percent from last year, with beers submitted into 88 different categories including Fruit Beer, Coffee Beer, Gluten-Free Beer, Herb and Spice, Experimental Beer and Specialty Beer. Many styles and price ranges were represented. Beers were tasted by a panel of more than 100 comprised of BJCP certified judges, brew masters and beer industry officials.
This year, judges handed out 82 Gold medals, 81 Silver medals, 75 Bronze medals and 27 Honorable Mentions.

The public will get its first opportunity to taste the entries May 9 at LA on Tap - the Los Angeles International Beer Competition & Festival. LA on Tap features more than 65 breweries pouring more than 150 beers. The event, one of the largest beer festivals in Southern California, features food and entertainment. Tickets range from $50-75.
